What a joy it was to spend the day with the beautiful Ellie & Sam! Having photographed BOTH of their sister’s weddings, it was like seeing old family friends again. I recognised many of their wedding guests too and had hugs from the Mums. What a treat!
The day began at Ellie’s family home where she and her many ‘maids were getting ready and adding final touches. There was such a joyful air in the house, everyone was really relaxed and the house was full of love and laughter.
Ellie was helped into her stunning dress by her Mum and sister.
I do love it when everyone is in love with the Bride as she walks down the stairs. The Father of the Bride’s face especially, was emotional, and the little flower girls were enchanted!
Arriving at St Andrews Church in Oxford, the bridal party assemble…
She walks down the aisle…
The ceremony was led by the Bride’s uncle, and was so touching, it had me in tears at one point.
Happy newly-wed faces!
Wintry bridal party photos on the steps. Thankfully the rain stopped – perfect timing.
As the Bride and Groom were leaving for their reception venue, the open-top car played “All I want for Christmas is you” at booming volume, to which we all heartily joined in, of course!
The Reception was at the stunning venue of Lains Barn, Wantage. We had just enough light to take some photos of the new Mr & Mrs before the cosy cocktail hour.
The stunning venue of Lains Barn looked perfect for a winter wedding, and they managed to squeeze a lot of people into this space later on!
Those cheeky adorable flower girls seemed to be having the time of their lives!
The festive feast began, followed by speeches and a lot of laughter.
The night ended with lots of energetic dancing…. what better way to end a beautiful Christmas wedding.
